(Part 2) The Christianity of Losing

    DAILY DEVOTIONAL COMPANION

THE CHRISTIANITY OF LOSING (PART 2).

Matthew 16:25 (AMPC).... For whoever is bent on saving his [temporal] life [his comfort and security here] shall lose it [eternal life]; and whoever loses his life [his comfort and security here] for My sake shall find it [life everlasting].

In Christianity, you will lose things. This is the truth we don't want to hear, and it is the reason we are gathering for ourselves teachers who will teach us what we feel like hearing and not what God wants for us. This kind of Christianity is not popular anymore in the time we are living in. People who hear or read things like this will think that I am not of faith or that I bring bad news, but neither is correct.

To think that the preaching or teaching of faith is anti-losing is a lie. Faith never said you wouldn't lose things.

Hebrews 11:1-2, 13 (KJV)...... Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

[2] For by it the elders obtained a good report.

[13] These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

That we are in faith does not cancel out the Christianity of losing because our theme scripture says that if you try to save your temporary life, i.e., your comfort and security, then you will lose your eternal life. Selah.

    Prayer:

Thank you heavenly father for your word. Thank you for opening my eyes through your word to know the things that partaineth unto the gospel and to walk in them.

    Bible Reference: Mathew 10:1-40.

    Wisdom Capsule:

Proverbs 2:17 (MSG)..... Who’s faithless to the husband she married years ago, never gave a second thought to her promises before God.
